Low Road Crime

Update:

There has been a theft of tools from a van in Hamsterley Mill. Diamond drill bits were stolen. If anyone is offered these for sale please call 101. The last thing a small business needs at the minute is to have gear stolen. Keep vans locked.

Late last year there were several burglaries on the Low Road (A694) in Hamsterley, Low Westwood and Ebchester. All these crimes are similar in nature and have taken place in daylight hours. Houses have been broken into while homeowners were out and items such as jewellery, small electrical items and cash were stolen.

If anyone notices any suspicious behaviour it can be reported by calling 101, if a crime is in progress however, then 999 is still the number to call.

Burglaries are rare and the crime rate in the Ebchester area is low. We can help to keep it low by being vigilant and reporting anything out of the ordinary to the Police.
